Volcano Special Tour From Hilo

Take a special look into the recent lava flows of Kalapana and the Volcanoes National Park. Our tour originates in Hilo for a scenic tour past waterfalls and gardens and then climbs up to Pele's playground in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Tours are conducted on comfortable air-conditioned mini-buses by friendly, knowledgeable guides. (A sweater and comfortable walking shoes are recommended.) Transportation pick-ups begin at 7:45 a.m. depending on location of hotel. Return approximately 5:00 p.m.

	The Hummer was originally designed for the US Military in 1979 as a HUMVEE for its go-anywhere ruggedness. It can traverse the most rugged terrain with 30% banking and 60% slope-climbing capability. The all-terrain capabilities of this amazing vehicle allows you to penetrate deep into the ancient Hawaiian rainforest, the oldest eco-system on the Big Island. Experienced, native guides share their knowledge of the history, legends, culture, and ethno botany of the Hawaiian rainforest.
	HMV Tours presents Hummer safaris in the pristine rainforest of the Kohala Mountains. This is the first time these lands are accessible to the public. The hummer navigates the spectacular but rugged terrain with ease and safety. The trip features scenic waterfalls, native Hawaiian plant life, pristine riverbeds, untouched ravines and a swim in a hidden waterfall pool.
	Minimum number of passengers is 2 and the maximum number of passengers is 8. The trip starts at and returns to headquarters located in the northern village of Hawaii. The safety and comfort of the guest is priority. Jackets are provided at no extra cost.
