Families and leisure travelers enter an open-air lobby that leads to a grand, slate-tiled staircase, beyond which lies a snorkeling lagoon with waterfalls. Curved walkways display a $7-million art collection, including rare Hawaiian feather lei. Mahogany canal boats and Swiss-made trams transport guests throughout the 62-acre resort. The resort offers three outdoor pools, as well as a 25,000-square-foot health spa and fitness center (surcharge). Nine restaurants and bars provide a range of dining options, including casual California fare and fine regional Hawaiian cuisine.

Complimentary scheduled transportation is provided throughout the property, and shuttle service to two adjacent golf courses, King's Shops, and Anaehoomalu Bay is available upon request. Dining options include a fine-dining restaurant featuring regional cuisine and ocean views, several open-air cafés, and Italian, Chinese, and Japanese restaurants.

Guests can interact with live dolphins in the resort's Dolphin Quest Lagoon (surcharge). A second ocean-fed lagoon is available for snorkeling and kayaking. Three freshwater outdoor pools include waterslides and a children's pool. The Kohala Sports Club & Spa (surcharge) offers a fitness and aerobics studio, a weight room, eight tennis courts, and treatments rooms for massage therapy, body wraps, and facials. Camp Menehune (surcharge) provides supervised children’s activities. On-site shopping includes a resort clothing shop, an art gallery, and boutiques featuring local art, jewelry, and clothing.

 

A 24-hour business center is available, and complimentary high-speed wireless Internet access (surcharge) is provided in the lobby lounge. The resort offers 150,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including several ballrooms and a seaside wedding pavilion

The resort has 1,240 guestrooms in three seven-story buildings served by complimentary trams or mahogany canal boats. Renovated in 2005, the rooms have island decor with local artwork, mahogany woods, and tropical prints. Amenities include Hilton's Suite Dreams Beds, refrigerators, minibars, in-room safes, complimentary premium channels, and high-speed Internet access (surcharge). Bathrooms have robes and Neutrogena toiletries. Large, furnished lanais provide mountain, garden, golf course, or ocean views.

Kamuela Provision Company - With an oceanfront lanai for sunset viewing, live guitar music, and a wine bar, this fine-dining restaurant features regional cuisine with local ingredients. Specialties include steaks, lobster martinis, and seared ahi. Open for dinner only.

Donatoni’s - This romantic restaurant with a waterfront lanai and indoor fireplace offers fine northern Italian cuisine and an extensive wine list. Open for dinner only.

Imari - Shoji doors open to koi ponds, a Japanese water garden, and a private tea house in this quiet Japanese restaurant, which serves tempura, sushi, miso butterfish, and teppanyaki. Open for dinner only.

Kirin - Dim sum lunch is the specialty in this Chinese fine-dining restaurant, which also offers a variety of regional à la carte selections for dinner.

Lagoon Grill - This casual outdoor restaurant overlooks the Dolphin Quest Lagoon and serves tropical drinks, burgers, fries, and sandwiches for lunch and early dinner.

The Dolphin Quest Lagoon provides interactive programs with live dolphins (surcharge), and guests can kayak or snorkel in a second saltwater lagoon. The three freshwater pools include a 175-foot water slide, a children's pool, and a quiet pool for adults. The 25,000-square-foot health club (surcharge) includes a day spa, fitness center, weight room, and a range of classes, including tai chi, yoga, and water aerobics. The resort also offers eight tennis courts, a 432-seat stadium, and tennis instruction; fees apply.

Guests can use a 30,000-square-foot seaside putting course (surcharge), and two championship 18-hole golf courses are within a five-minute drive of the hotel, with complimentary shuttles provided upon request. One mile away, Anaehoomalu Bay features sailing, scuba diving, windsurfing, kayak excursions, and whale-watching cruises; fees apply.
