Beautiful Waikiki is a world class vacation spot. With miles of sparkling white sand and turquoise seas, outstanding dining and fun lounges, unbeatable shopping, and interesting historical sites, you'll have the time of your life in Waikiki. This two mile long area sits nestled along Oahu's sunny southern shore under the awesome profile of Diamond Head Crater. Hike up to the top of Diamond Head for a fabulous view, paddle an outrigger canoe and catch some waves, and learn how to surf from the Waikiki Beach Boys. Sit on Waikiki Beach and watch a spectacular sunset while enjoying the soft strands of Hawaiian music. Catch the torch lighting ceremony and hula at Kuhio Beach.
Stroll through Kapiolani Park and visit the Rose Garden, the Honolulu Zoo, and the Waikiki Aquarium. On Sundays, enjoy "Art in the Park" as you visit with the artists who hang their paintings and photographs on the Zoo fence. Shop the famous International Marketplace for exotic treasures and visit the great boutiques and shops along Kalakaua and Kuhio Avenues. Indulge in an intimate dining experience in one of many world class restaurants in Waikiki or sit back and enjoy the beach scene from your seat in a fun, casual beachfront lounge. Dance the night away in an exciting nightclub and stroll home along the beach under thousands of stars. Miles and miles of sandy white beaches await you on Oahu's incredible North Shore. Winter surf, typically from November to March, transforms the North Shore beaches into one of the world's most challenging surfing meccas. When the winter swells hit the North Shore, the surf rises and forms stupendous breakers and perfect tubes. Don't miss the excitement and thrills of professional winter surfing at Waimea Bay, Sunset Beach and Banzai Pipeline. Summer brings calmness to North Shore surf and the smooth waters at Sunset Beach live up to their name by reflecting awesome sunsets. Shark's Cove at Pupukea Beach Park (between Waimea Bay and Sunset Beach) is famous for snorkeling. A marine conservation zone, the cove is filled with fish, seaweed, coral formations, and lava caves. And don't worry, despite the name, there aren't any sharks. Explore charming Hale'iwa Town with its quaint shops, galleries, and restaurants. Stop by Matsumoto's store for the most famous shave ice on the island. And at Wyland's Gallery, you'll probably see his "painted dolphins" car parked out front. Not far from Hale'iwa, the sleepy town of Waialua boasts the old Sugar Mill (now a marketplace) and the unique Sugar Bar saloon. Follow the road along past Mokuleia to mostly deserted white sandy beaches that stretch for miles. Pick a beach, have a picnic, explore the tidepools and enjoy the laid-back country atmosphere of the North Shore. For a little excitement, continue on to Dillingham Airfield, take a glider ride and soar high over the coastal mountains and the sea. The road ends at Kaena Point Nature Preserve. The island's point is a few miles walk down a dusty dirt road or you can stroll along the beach to the Kaena Point lighthouse.
