Outrigger Waikiki Beach Hotel

Located in the middle of Waikiki, this beachfront hotel is close to water sports, shops, and restaurants, and a short walk from a zoo, aquarium, and park. The new Outrigger Waikiki welcomes you to Waikiki's best beachfront with a beautifully redesigned lobby and 525 new guest rooms dressed in contemporary island style.

The new personalized guest registration is gracious and inviting. Duke's Canoe Club lively and fun. And the new Hula Grill Waikiki is quickly becoming a favorite for dining at sunset with marvelous views of Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head. This casual, well-maintained hotel draws vacationing families, celebrating couples, young singles, and some older guests who’ve been returning for years. The large, busy lobby is decorated with Hawaiian art, including a full-sized, century-old, koa-wood outrigger canoe, and royal standards made of feathers. Pacific crafts, toys, beachwear, and sundries are sold in shops on site, and the hotel has several, beachfront restaurants.

Hawaii's traditions come to life with displays of royal artifacts; with workshops conducted by respected teachers of music, art, and history; and with hospitality refined over the many years hosting guests at Hawaii's most famous vacation destination. Bookended by sand and turquoise water, this hotel is set amid all the action on Kalakaua Avenue, 1 block from Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center and International Market Place.

Guestrooms all have balconies, and décor is a mix of dark and light-wood furniture, custom bedspreads, and bright accents. Bath products are scented with fragrant Hawaiian flowers. The Aloha spirit pervades three restaurants, a 430-seat showroom, fitness center, outdoor swimming pool, and Duke's Canoe Club, a famous Waikiki nightspot.

This 16-floor beachfront resort hotel has 525 rooms, all with balconies providing ocean or city views. Room decor is a mixture of dark-wood and light-wood island-style furniture accented with bright colors and custom-designed bedspreads. Bath products are scented with pikake, a fragrant Hawaiian flower used in making leis. The rooms also include sofas, refrigerators, and video game consoles. Free coffee and tea is available in rooms. Use of the safe also is complimentary.

Many recreational activities are available in the area surrounding the hotel. Surfboards, boogie boards, kayaks, ocean rafts, snorkel sets, and umbrella-and-beach-chair sets can be rented on Waikiki Beach. Outrigger canoes and catamarans offer rides from the beach directly in front of the hotel. The activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply. Besides beach activities, guests can enjoy the large pool, shops selling handcrafted Pacific art, a renowned musical variety act, and restaurants open to the beach.

All Outrigger hotels in Waikiki offer interchangeable hospitality. Guests at any hotel are invited to enjoy dining, entertainment, and facilities at the other hotels—including the Serenity Spa (health and beauty) and Cowabunga Kids Club at The Outrigger Reef on the Beach—while charging to their rooms. Exceptions are that the pool at this hotel is reserved for hotel guests and the fitness center at The Outrigger Reef on the beach is reserved for hotel guests and for Outrigger Waikiki Shore guests.

At this beachfront hotel in the heart of Waikiki guests can enjoy surfing lessons, outrigger canoe rides, catamaran cruises, and beachside massage under a thatched roof. Weekly lobby activities include storytelling, and Hawaiian craft and music workshops. Lobby boutiques offer Pacific crafts, toys, beachwear, fresh fruit, and sundries. A Las Vegas-style musical production by the Society of Seven performs nightly except Monday. Food and drinks are available at three beachfront restaurants, two snack shops, and a coffee bar.

Duke’s Canoe Club – This lively and casual beachside restaurant and “barefoot bar” are dedicated to Duke Kahanamoku, legendary surfer, Olympic swimmer, movie star, and goodwill ambassador. Buffet breakfast, lunch, and à la carte dinner (fresh fish and steak with salad bar). Live Hawaiian music nightly.

Seattle’s Best Coffee - Located at street level, this coffee bar serves espresso drinks, coffee, tea, and sweets from early morning all through the evening.

From the beach, hotel guests can enjoy swimming and body surfing in the small shorebreak, as well as surfing lessons, outrigger canoe rides, and catamaran cruises. Beachside massage is also available. A small fitness room with an underwater view of the 1,300-square-foot pool has treadmills, a step machine, and weight machines, as well as mats for stretching.

Free public tennis courts are a 15-minute walk away in Kapiolani Park, and the public Ala Wai Golf Course is a 10-minute drive away.
