Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort

Adjacent to a marina and two golf courses, this 22-acre Kona Coast resort is an eight-minute drive from Kailua-Kona and a 20-minute drive from the Kona Coffee Living History Farm. A 14,100-square-foot system of multilevel pools includes a 200-foot lava slide, two spa tubs, and a sandy-bottomed children's pool; the resort's health spa has a 24-hour fitness center. All 521 nonsmoking guestrooms feature furnished lanais, high-speed wireless Internet access, mini-refrigerators, bathrobes, and Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Beds with plush-top mattresses.

Guests enter a round, expansive lobby with mahogany trim, stone floors, and open-air views of Keauhou Bay. The 22-acre oceanfront resort attracts leisure travelers and families with its recreational facilities and proximity to golf and ocean activities. The resort's Hawaiian restaurant features breakfast buffets and fresh local seafood for dinner; lunch options include a poolside bar and grill and a coffee shop. Held twice weekly, Origins Luau features live entertainment and traditional local cuisine. The Crystal Blue bar provides sunset and manta-ray viewing from open-air terraces. The resort has 521 nonsmoking guestrooms located in four wings of three to seven stories. Rooms feature Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Beds with custom-designed, plush-top mattresses, triple sheeting, plump duvets, and five goose-down pillows. Glass sliding doors lead to private, furnished lanais. Contemporary island-style decor includes light woods and Hawaiian art. Amenities include high-speed wireless Internet access, mini-refrigerators, video-game consoles, in-room safes, complimentary premium channels, and coffeemakers. Tiled bathrooms have granite vanities and bathrobes.

Kai Restaurant - This open-air restaurant with bay views serves lavish breakfast buffets with fresh tropical fruits and juices. The dinner menu emphasizes fresh, local ingredients, including kiawe-smoked fish.

Manta Ray Bar & Grill - This casual poolside restaurant features tropical drinks and light fare, including salads and wraps. Open from mid-morning until mid-evening, with live Hawaiian entertainment at sunset.

Crystal Blue - Perched above Keauhou Bay, this hors d‘oeuvres bar offers spacious open-air terraces and panoramic sunset views. Open from late afternoon until late evening.

Caffe Hahalua - This poolside coffee shop serves gourmet coffees, pastries, Italian gelatos, and light snacks. Open from mid-morning until late afternoon.

Origins Luau - Featuring Hawaiian music, dancing, and cuisine, including roast suckling pig, poi, and fresh fish. Held every Monday and Thursday evening; reservations required.

On-site recreation includes a large multilevel pool system, a 24-hour fitness center with free weights and cardiovascular equipment, two tennis courts, and a basketball/volleyball court.

Keauhou Bay is home to numerous manta rays, which can be viewed in the evening from various resort locations. Guests can interact directly with the rays through nighttime snorkeling and scuba-diving excursions. Two 18-hole golf courses and a driving range are available at the adjacent Kona Country Club. With some of the best snorkeling on the island, Kahaluu Beach Park is one mile away.
